Small liquor stores pivot to more food and delivery as Colorado grocers roll out wine sales

“For four generations, Argonaut Wine & Liquor in Denver has thrived on selling every kind of booze under the sun. But in early February, president Josh Robinson added a new type of aisle near the front of the store: food.

Now, customers can grab frozen pizza or barbeque supplies on top of wine or their favorite vodka.

Robinson made the expansion in an attempt to stay competitive amid a major shake-up in Colorado’s liquor industry: Large grocery chains across the state can start selling wine on March 1.”

SC bill proposes to allow retailers to sell alcohol curbside, or delivery

“SC Senate bill 425 would allow retailers to sell alcohol curbside or through delivery, including beer and wine.Bill Colven has owned O’Neill spirits in Mount Pleasant for seven years. “There is lots of tourism in the area. We bring in out-of-towners who shop in-store. It’s a great environment. People come in friendly, happy come into a liquor store,” Lowcountry Senator Sandy Senn is one of the bill’s sponsors. She said it ties back to the early days of the pandemic.”
