Constellation to Sell Wine Brands
Beer, wine and spirits company Constellation Brands plans to sell select “mainstream wine brands and related vineyards” to California wine company The Wine Group, company officials announced earlier this month.
The deal would include the Woodbridge, Meiomi, Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Cook’s, SIMI and J. Rogét sparkling wine brands. The company said the move is part of a broader strategy to build a “higher-end” wine lineup that aligns with its beer portfolio.
Colorado governor signs bill halting expansion of hard liquor sales in grocery and big-box stores
Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill Thursday that halts the expansion of hard liquor sales in grocery and big-box stores in an effort to protect small businesses that sell alcohol from further economic decline.
Senate Bill 33 was brought in response to the recent expansion of beer and wine sales in grocery stores, which has dramatically reduced the sales of Colorado’s independent alcohol retailers.
Colorado law limits the number of grocery stores that can sell hard liquor, like vodka, tequila and whiskey. But that was set to end starting in 2037.
NY-only wines in grocery stores? The liquor store industry says ‘no way’
A new bill proposed in the state Senate would allow grocery stores to sell wine, but only if the product is made in New York or produced from ingredients grown in New York. The bill, introduced this week by Sen. George Borello, aims to make the wine-in-grocery-stores debate more palatable by adding the New York-produced requirement. But the trade association representing New York liquor stores says the new proposal is simply “an end-around” ploy.

Having a Cash Price and a Card Price is
A Win-Win!
(for you and customers)
A Minimum of 50 MN Liquor Stores are getting $3,000, $5,000, $10,000 in Credit Card Fees back a month with Dual Pricing
The other thing all of these stores have in common is that they are all over the State, none of them waited for someone else near them to “do it first”. They are saving the huge business expense of CC fees and they haven’t looked back.
What could you do with another $3,000+ in profit a month, and erasing your ongoing POS and support costs like these stores are?
“Hi Gary
Hope all is well. Everything has been going well with Dual Pricing. Had a few comments but nothing to lose sleep over. We have saved close to $25,000.00 over the last 6 months. I have given my employees raises and been able to keep my prices lower than most of the competition around me. Wish I had made the switch a year ago.
Thanks again! Joe – Good Time Liquors”
